Kung Fu Panda

Malaysian release date : 6th June 2008

This is a superb show.Once again Dreamworks did it again. It's never a momment dry with humor. The story goes to show that heroes are never always as they would seems they are. This story makes me realise, that you donlt have to be special to be special. Just believe in in. Like the 1st matrix movie, 'There is no spoon'...here 'there is no secret ingrediant'. I enjoy the show well and I've learn so much from it. The two lessons we could use from the movie are,

• You don;lt have to have special abilities to be special just believe in yourself is enough.
• Everyone is special, a technique use for others to success, may not be applicable to everyone. you just have to find out yourself.

I would recomand this movie to everyone. My rating would be 4.5 over 5. Voice acting is great. Try to identify actors to their character. Jacky Chan, Lucy Lui, Micheal Clark Dunchan and James Hong.

 

 

Speed Racer

Malaysian release date : 8th Mayl 2008

Basically is a good show, the effects are off the world but only that the racing is a little too fast to see everything. There are some nostalgic value in the movie, like speed racer theme song. Story plot is a little predicatble, and there twist and turns to make the story interesting. As usual the effects are full of colors. For the first time, when looking at the enviroment, one seems to question, what's wrong with the sky. but as it progresses, the effects are cool, and to completely create a fantasy race track, that's the only choice.

I world recomand this show. I give it 3.5 over 5. Watch it and enjoy. :), but don;t take it to serious.

 

Ironman

Malaysian release date : 30th April 2008

Well, Marvel did it again. Ironman flew right off the screens. A superb blend of action and comedy, a dash of 'on and off' romance. This one is one of the best marvel productions ever. A must watch for everyone. Story line is good, main plot could be gussed, but side plots are great. A fan would have catch the little details, such as Rhodes comments on the Mark 2 suit, 'Maybe later baby...'. Or Stan Lee appearances in the movie, like all his marvel movie (exception for The Hulk 2003, directed by Ang Lee).

Anyway I would recomand this movie to everyone,  movie fan or not. I've just catch the movie today, and seem 1 time is not enough.

I give 4.5 out of 5

 

 Over Her Dead Body : 18th April Malaysian Release.

I not a fan of romantic comedies. Once in a while, a good romentic comedy, will catch me off guard and for a brief momment, make me a believer. There are some romantic comady that will "forever" stick in my head, like "Hitch (2006)", "Home Sweet Alabama (2005)" and "Enchanted (2007)".

Looking forward for this one, mainly due to the "promised" supernatural element and Eva Longoria.

Forbidden Kingdom: 18th April 2008 - Malaysian Release.

I saw this show on the opening day. I was a good show, with elements of comedy. The plot which combines eastern and western mix seem a little odd. Although the show combines the talent of superstar, Jet Li and Jackie Chan, neither both had the spotlight on them. Both share almost equal screentime. The hightlight of the show would be the discovery of each person's journey.

Tribute to some old chinese kung fu movie and  quotes from legendary kung fu masters. Quotes like, " your cup must be empty, before you recieve" and "focus, speed and balance is the key".

While not only quotes that gave me a nostalgic view on the movie, seeking Jackie Chan in this Drunken Master style,  is more that enough to give me a positive start.

I would recomand this movie to anyone. Those who like action martial arts movie would really enjoy, while casual cinema goers, would find a good entertainment. Truely a summer opening block buster.

Well, looks like summer is just around the corner. Every year during this time, I will wait with anticipation on all the summer movie releases. All the summer blockbusters!! These are the big budget movies, promised by hollywood, some overrated while some are underrated. In between there are a few, but not always, the so call 'unknown' summer movies, that will take us by surprise.
